ANNUAL REPORT SESSION 2013-14

Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen,

Honourable Chief Guest ADM COMMANDANT D.K.DESHMUKH , Guest of honour Smt. DEEPA DESHMUKH and august gathering.

It is my proud privilege to welcome you all who have assembled here to grace the occasion. We are on the edge of completing another academic session 2013-14 during this session we have tried to touch the horizon and in many areas , we are proud to say that we got success in flying colours. Now, its time to showcase our performances and achievements.

KV EME, Baroda, a model Kendriya Vidyalaya started working as Temple of Learning ‘in 1982. Since then it has never looked behind and today it is a full fledged school having Science, Commerce and Humanities Stream. A team of approximate 80 teachers is always standing on toes to cater the educational needs of about 2000 students, second highest enrolment in Ahmedabad Region.

The Vidyalaya saw various changes from the initial stage to this day. Faces are changed but the glory is not extenuated. Instead it is increasing day by day in one or another way. The persons who served here are scattering the fragrance of their glory in other Kendriya Vidyalayas. Vidyalaya also felt mixed emotions bidding adieu to  the superannuated staff.  Mr Ashok Srivastav. , PRT and Mr Rohit Bhai , Sub-staff . The gaps and ditches caused in this way were tried to overcome by the KVS by transferring  a talented team of teachers.

Excellence in academics is the hallmark of any good institution.

Class X

·         Total 163 students appeared, out of them 10 students got 10 CGPA and the Vidyalaya result is 100%. The students with 10 CGPA

Class XII

·         Science stream

o   Total 93 students appeared out of which 84 passed and pass percentage is 90.32%.

o   In Science Stream Kum. Shravanti B. has secured 1st postion with 97%, marks.She is thetopper of all the KVs undre the jurisdiction of KVS ahmedabad Region as well as the topper all the CBSE schools  functioning in Baroda

·         Commerce Stream

o   Total 38 studetns appeared out of which 32 passed and pass percentage is 84.21%.

o   Ma. Kunal Dhama has secured 23rdposition in Ahmedabad Region and  1stposition in Vidyalaya with  80.20 %.

·         Humanities Stream

o   Total 14 students appeared out of which 11 passed and pass percentage is 78.57%

o   In Ahmedabad Region Ma. Ankur Pandey has secured 1st postion with 93.20%, Ku. Shruti Singh has secured 7th postion with 84.40% and Honey Jani has secured 18th postion with 73.60%in Ahmedabad Region.

o    

 Master Aakash Rai of Class XII – Science is selected in IIT.

 

Mas . Debadeep  Chakrobarty of Class XI – Science recevied cheque of Rs. 2500/- and Silver Medal from National Science Olympiad for securing Second postion in Second Level Competition in Gujarat.

 

 Library is the centre of knowledge in the form of 17441 precious books & internet connection for proper functioning of e- library is most imminent feature of this institution. 34 periodicals and 8 daily news papers are always available to keep the students abreast of present scenario. . Digitalization of the library has been done including bar coding. A National Book Week was celebrated in the Vidyalaya from 15th November to 21st November 2013 .

 In the field of computer education Three well equipped computer labs with five multimedia projectors, 2 visualizer is a unique feature of the vidyalaya. The Vidyalaya have their own  Web Portal which facilitates the students, the teachers and alumni of the vidyalaya to share information.

  The vidyalaya is well equipped with spacious laboratories of Physics, Chemistry Biology, and Primary Resource Room etc. A good conference room available in the vidyalaya is the centre for various courses, workshops and seminars etc.

Vidyalaya is having a big play ground where we are present just now with the facilities to play basket ball, Volley Ball, and other out door games. The basement is the centre of indoor games.  .

The dream of Baden Powelcan be seen in vidyalaya activities still alive .This year 152 students were registered as Scout/Guide and Cubs /Bulbul. Five Scouts and  one Guide successfully passed Tritiya Sopan Testing Camp.

  Mas. Aman Ranjan Sahu received  Rajya Puruskaar .

Three Scouts and One Guide participated in Divisional Scout Guide State Rally at CRPF Gandhinagar.

One  Guide Ku. Runa Khatoon  participated in KVS State Rally held in Lucknow on 27 to 30 Nov 2013.

 

 NCC activities are conducted under the caretakership of  Mr. H.B Garasia . It will not be out of context to mention that out of 46 kVS of this region KV EME, Baroda  KV AFS JAMNAGAR  are the only  two schools, where NCC is running. Other schools are on the way to start this activity.

The three cadets of our vidyalaya have been selected for Republic Day Camp at Delhi. Selected cadets are :

1)Bharat Kumar – IX-D

2)Neeraj Chauhan – IX-A

3)Ankush Awasthi – IX – D

 Students and the teachers of the vidyalaya are full of knowledge and have thirst to achieve success in one way or other. Here are some of them.

 The students of our Vidyalaya with full vigour and enthusiasm participate in Drawing and painting competitions .

 Mas. Akhilesh Mishra of Class VII – B participated at State Level Drawing Competition on ‘Save Water’ theme organized by Government of India, in which  he received a cash prize of Rs. 1000/-, a bag, colour kit and Diary

 

 Common Minimum Programme started as per policy of KVS has proved a way to bring out latent talent of the young blossoms .

This year Cultural Programme under CMP for Baroda Cluster was organised in our Vidyalaya on 30-11-13 in which 07 Kendriya Vidyalayas participated in different cultural activities like Rangoli Making , Group Song , Group Dance, Tree Decoration & Fancy Dress. the Primary children had secured First position in Dance Competition, Rangoli Making Competition & Tree decoration, while Second position in Group Song Competition

Cluster Level CMP Sports and Games Meet organized in KV AFS, Baroda in which total 32 students have participated with zeal and enthusiasm. In this Ma. Nischal of Class V-C has secured II Position in 100 meter race.

 Our achievement in the field of games and sports was at par with the academic.In all 232 students participated in Cluster Level Sports Meet. 216 students at KVS Regional Level Sports Meet . 27 participated in KVS National Level Sports Meet.58 Gold medals,29 Silver medals and 45 Bronze medals were received by our students in various activities. Besides this, Vidyalaya organised KVS Cluster Level Kabaddi for Boys and Girls under- 14& under- 19 . It was also a venue for coaching of atheletics (girls) and kabaddi (boys). Regional  Kabaddi for boys under -19 was organised in our vidyalaya

In National Sports Meet  Ma. Bhupender of Class XI – B were selected for SGFI in standby for Kabaddi Event.

In National Athletics Ma. Brikesh Rai got Bronze in 800 m along with cash of Rs 1500/-

Ku. Supriya also got Bronze medals and cash of Rs 1500/- in Javelin event of Athletics.

 Regional Level National Children Science Congress was held at KV AFS , Makarpura, Baroda. KV EME, Baroda participated with maximum number of projects. Total 21 students participated in the following themes and sub themes. One Project represented for National Children Science Congress  at Bhopal on 27 to 31 December 2013 .

 

 Our Vidyalaya participated in the 25th National Youth Parliament (2012-13) competition. It was awarded the first position at the Regional Level. The team was then sent to Jaipur to participate at the Zonal level competition. The students, an escort teacher and the Principal Sh.V.K.Malik attended the Award and Felicitation Ceremony for the winners of the Regional and National level competition, held at JNU, New Delhi.

Our Vidyalaya has participated in 26th Regional Youth Parliament competition held at KV ONGC, Baroda on 30.08.2013 and again Secured First Postion at Regional Level&Third Postion at Zonal Level.

 

Social Science Exhibition 2013 was organized in the Vidyalaya on 3rd and 4th October 2013, in which 13 KVs of Clusters had participated. The  selected participants for Regional Level  Social Science Exhibition were

à        Kum. Shalini of Class XII – B  in Hindi Debate

à        Ma. Gautam Jha of Class X-D in Quiz Competition

à        Kum. Shambhavi of Class XI-D Exhibits on topic Disaster Management

 

 

 Jawaharlal Nehru KVS Regional Level Science, Mathematics & Environment Exhibition – 2014 was organized in the Vidyalaya on 6th & 7th December 2013. In which 38 schools of region has participated including 198 students and 39 escorts. The function was presided over by the Chief Guest Sh. P. Devakumar, DC, KVS RO(AR).   One project from this Vidyalaya based on Resources (‘Use of Solar Energy as Natural Resources’) was adjudged I and selected for National Level Exhibition.

 Ma. Anand Shivam of Class XI-A was selected in Quiz for National Level which  is to be held in Bhuwaneshwer in the month of April2014

 Another feather in our cap was when two of our staff members were awarded for C.V Raman award for teaching of Science and technology. They are Mrs Sangeeta Arora PGT(Physics) and Mrs Seema Pandey, PRT.

Different activities like Cycle rally ,Travelling Photo Exhibition organized /visited to commomrate Golden Jubilee year of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan:

 

Our school was given the responsibility to organize a Cycle Rally of Students of Baroda Cluster

Shri Deepanker Trivedi (I.P.S), Deputy Commissioner of Police (Vadodara-Southzone) was the Chief Guest of Cycle-Rally and Shri P.Devakumar, Deputy Commissionar KVS RO GANDHINAGAR was the Guest of Honour.

 

Approximate 250 students & 15 teachers  visited Travelling Photo Exhibition organized at KV ONGC, Chandkheda in Commemoration of Golden Jubilee year of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. Students also visited the Sabarmati Ashram of Gandhi

 A ‘Kavi Goshthi’ program organized in the Vidyalaya on 21.09.2013, in which members of ‘Paschimanchal Hindi Prachar Samiti’ presented their poems on various topics.

Six  students of Class XII-2013 received cash prize Rs. 2500/-, Bag, Shield and Pen from GAIL for securing 90% and above marks in Hindi in Board Examination – 2013.

On 15th December  a Vadodara Marathon was organized on theme “Run for unity” on death anniversary of Sh. Sardar Patel in which 100 students of this Vidyalaya participated along with teachers.

 KVS Foundation Day was celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm .Quiz was   organised regarding KVS in the morning assembly for different classes to know the awareness about KVS.

Annual Sports Day was organized on 21.12.2013, in which all the students took part with sports man spirit. Sh. Aziz Sindhi, ACP, Vadodara was the Chief Guest of this event & praised the efforts of this Institute in the field of Games & Sports & assured to extend any type of help from local police authorities (if required).

Our Vidyalaya has also been the Venue of the Inservice course for Primary teachers 2013 and the first spell of this course has been conducted successfully in summer Vacation and the IInd spell has been  conducted in the winter vacation.23-12-2013  to  03-01-2014.

 All important days and  anniversaries are celebrated with full enthusiasm and their essence is preserved in true spirit to impart knowledge and inculcate values among the students.

The students of the vidyalaya also actively participated in inter class & inter house co curricular activities and applause for their undeterred vigour and enthusiasm.

 Two surprise inspections were held during the session. We have gradually upgraded & graph is moving upwards. Thus the progress has been adjudged from good to very good.

In this way all required efforts are made to bring laurels to the vidyalaya & take it to the new heights of glory. We are thankful to the parents for their kind cooperation in this regard.

 Once again I am thankful to you all specially our Chairman Brigadier  Rajiv Srivastava for extending full support and imparting valuable suggestions from time to time for upliftment in all the fields. I also acknowledge the co operation and support of the parents, VMC Members in achieving set goals.

Hope I shall continue to get same support from your side . I am extremely thankful to our Chief Guest Adm Commandant D.K.Deshmukh and Guest of honour Smt. Deepa Deshmukh for their benign presence .

It is my proud privilege to welcome you all who have assembled here to grace the occasion. I also express my sincere gratitude to our Chairman Brigadier Bhatia and Guest of honour Mrs. Bhatia for sparing valuable time from their busy schedule to be with us .Your presence will definitely work as motivational force to accelerate our activities.

Mrs. Kalpana Srivastava, PRT and Mrs USha Manke, Vice Principal got superannuation from this vidyalaya as they attained age of 60 years. The gaps and ditches caused in this way were tried to overcome by the KVS and posted following staff members in this vidyalaya.

ACADEMICS:The tradition of good academicachievement continued this session also. The overall result of the vidyalaya was92.9% for 12th class96.7% for class 10th. Twelve children got 10/10 CGPA. The internal result of the vidyalaya was 100%  Two students Master Kishan Jani & Master Vinay Prasad passed IIT entrance exam.
Principals’ Conference was organised from 19th July to 21st July 2012 at Hotel Surya Palace in which all the Principals of different Kendriya Vidyalayas of Ahmedabad Region, participated with zeal and enthusiasm. Responsibility to organize such big event was entrusted to this Vidyalaya. Again on 17th of this month, January 2013 one day meeting of Principals was organized in the Vidyalaya Premises. Vidyalaya launched an innovative mobile lab, which was beyond the imagination of the group. The Principals have remarkable memory of the way events as organized in this KV.

Career counselling corner set up in the library renders vital service in guiding the students to choose from best available career options. Digitalization of the library has been done including barcoding.

Other Facilities:  The vidyalaya is well equipped with spacious laboratories of Physics, Chemistry Biology, and Primary Resource Room etc. A good conference room available in the vidyalaya is the centre for various courses, workshops and seminars etc.

SCOUTS & GUIDES: The dream of Baden Powelcan be seen in vidyalaya activities still alive .This year 239 students were registered as Scout/Guide and Cubs /Bulbul. Six Scouts and Three Guides successfully passed Tritiya Sopan Testing Camp and one student took Rajya Puruskaar Pariksha. As on date there are 06 Scout and Cub Masters and 04 Guide captains and flock leaders. Numerous programmes such as tree plantation, cleanliness, excursion, and awareness rallies on social issues like conservation of natural resources, harmful effects of drugs& polythene bags etc. are organised to touch the most sensitive issues.Two students Master Pravesh Kumar X-B and Master Akshar Patel X-B have passed Rajya Purushkar Pariksha & next step is Rashtrapati Puraskar.
NCC: NCC activities are conducted by Mr. Arun Yadav . It will not be out of context to mention that out of 46 kVS of this region KV EME, Baroda is the only school where NCC is running. Other schools are on the way to start this activity.
ACHIEVEMENTS: Students and the teachers of the vidyalaya are full of knowledge and have thirst to achieve success in one way or other. Here are some of them.
This year was observed as National Year of Mathematics on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Srinivasan Ramanujam. Different activities like essay writing, power point making , quiz , participated at mathematical model making competitions were organised at vidyalaya and the best selected entries were sent for participation at regional level
Art : The students of our Vidyalaya with full vigour and enthusiasm participate in drawing and painting competitions . Master Abhishek Mishra of class VI-B participated in drawing competition organised by Ministry Of Water Resource & Bureau of Energy Efficiency and brought laurels to the vidyalaya by winning a cash award of Rs 1000 and other gifts .
Yash Mehta IIA , Riya Verma III-A , Athira III-D bagged 1st , 2nd, & 3rd prize in Navneet Drawing Competition under Group A
Vanshita Mehta VI-C , Krishnavati VI –B& Sneha Vijay VI-B bagged 1st , 2nd, & 3rd prize in Navneet Drawing Competition under Group B
Bhaktika X-B , Raju Chetri X-C & Sneha Shiva IX –B bagged 1st , 2nd, & 3rd prize in Navneet Drawing Competition under Group C
Km. Snehal Manohar D of class VI-B got 2nd prize in on spot drawing and painting competition organized by Gujarat Refinery Group.
Others : Km. Priya Singh bagged Third prize at national level Essay Writing Competition organised by PCRA ( Petroleum Conservation & Research Association) . She got felicitation from the hands of Honourable Petroleum Minister Mr. Veerapa Moili. She received a cash reward of Rs. 25000, a lap top and to & fro fares to reach Delhi.

This year Cultural Programme under CMPfor Baroda Cluster was organised in our Vidyalaya in which 07 kendriya vidyalayas participated in different cultural activities like Rangoli Making , Group Song , Group Dance, Mask Making & Fancy Dress. Similarly Sports events under CMP were organized at K.V. Harni . In both Cultural as well as sports our students performed superbly well.  
Sports :  Our achievement in the field of games and sports was at par with the academic.In all 200 students participated in Cluster Level Sports Meet. 205 students at KVS Regional Level Sports Meet . Out of which 32 boys & 22 girls made their way to KVS National Level Sports Meet. Km. Madhvi Lathar of class XI, a chess player has been selected for   SGFI (State Games Federation of India) & Master Rushabh of class II for SGFI in skating . Our under 19 girls( Basketball ) went to Jabalpur and Under 19 boys went to Khrakpur to participate in pre- National. Besides Vidyalaya organised KVS Cluster Level Kabaddi for under 14&under 19 boys of five clusters of the region. It was also a venue for coaching of atheletics (girls) and kabaddi (boys).
The most outstanding achievement is selection of Master Kanishk Class X by BCCI.  
National Children Science Congress 2012 (NCSC2012): Regional Level National Children Science Congress was held at KV AFS , Makarpura, Baroda. KV EME, Baroda participated with maximum number of projects. Total 31 students participated in the following themes and sub themes.
(1)   Main Theme : Energy Exploration, Harnessing and Conservation
(2)   Sub Theme:
a)      Energy Resource
b)      Energy System
c)      Energy & Society
d)      Energy & Environment
e)      Energy Conservation & Management
f)       Energy Planning & Modelling
Science Congress was held on 31st Oct. and 1st Nov2012
 25th Youth Parliament 2012 : Regional Level Competition of Youth parliament was held at KV SAC, Ahmedabad on 9th August 2012 in which our team was announced Regional winner and we a team of 65 members of parliament participated in Zonal Level Youth Parliament Competition.
Social Science Exhibition : Our group dance based on theme New Zealand which we are going to present today afterwards, Project of historical monuments and survey report of Public Distribution System ( PDS) was also selected for Regional Level Competition .
KVPY-2012 : Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana National Level Exam was held at various centers throughout India on 4th Nov 12. Two students Mast. Raghvendra Singh XII-Sc. & Km. Sravanti Barla of this KV have qualified the first round.
SOF: Many students have appeared in Science Olympiad Foundation .Result is still awaited.
Teacher Achievement: Smt. Sangeeta Arora, PGT (Physics) added to the glory of the Vidyalaya by dint of her hard work & dedication when she got selected for National  KVS Incentive Award.
 All important days and dates of anniversaries are celebrated with full enthusiasm and their essence is preserved in true spirit to impart knowledge and inculcate values among the students.
The students of the vidyalaya also actively participated in inter class & inter house co curricular activities and applause for their undeterred vigour and enthusiasm.
